World Famous Fox Glacier Guiding now at Aoraki/Mt Cook
With a long guiding history on the Fox Glacier (guided walks first started in 1928), NZ family owned Fox Glacier Guiding brings over 40 years of accumulated knowledge and experience to the Mt Cook Glacier Guiding partnership. This experience means we are able to guide you with complete confidence and you’ll still get that same friendly West Coast hospitality.
A ski-plane with retractable skis? We invented it!
The founder of Mount Cook Ski Planes (one of our parent companies) was Harry Wigley. In the 1950’s, Harry helped develop then flew the first ski plane to use a retractable ski, allowing the plane to land on both the Tasman Glacier and at Mt Cook airfield.
Today, our modern aircraft are fitted with an advanced version of that ski, so you can enjoy New Zealand’s largest glacier too!
You’re safe and in good hands
We offer you the highest level of safety. All of our guides are qualified or are in training for Glacier Guides certification, through the internationally recognised New Zealand Mountain Guides Association (NZMGA).
